Using the Internet can simplify activities such as online banking, e-mail, and online bill payments. However, increased use of the Internet has led many cybercriminals to capitalize on the frequent use of online services and find ways to swindle and exploit innocent consumers.

Explain how cryptography and authentication help keep consumers safe online.
Provide a few examples of instances where cryptography and authentication are used to provide secure online services to consumers.
Provide at least two examples of security measures that could help you to guard yourself online.
Through Wednesday, June 8, 2016, respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts. While responding, draw comparisons between the examples you provided and the examples submitted by your classmates and provide a rationale for the comparisons.
