1) Of the cases decided in the Rights Period, which do you believe is the most significant (had the greatest impact)? Why?

2) Of the cases decided in the Deference Period, which do you believe is the most significant (had the greatest impact)? Why?

3) Have inmates rights eroded as a result of the Deference Period? In other words, has the Court’s apparent unwillingness to become involved after the Rights Period caused inmates as a whole to “lose ground” or enjoy fewer rights?
